Hello Readers once again,
This is a follow up post to my last and the first one. So I had put in some pictures for my readers to take a look at. Well now, any Indian MBA enthusiast would have guessed as to what place is that.
That stunningly beautiful looking resort is " Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode" or more famously revered as an IIMK. I will be moving to this heavenly place on 24th of June for next two years.
So for next couple of years I have plans to document all the major happenings that associate themselves with IIMK.
And it may come as shock to some but even before I have officially completed my registrations (they are to happen on 27th June), IIMK has kept be busy. Well , well, not by the way of documentation and bag packing. Instead I am preoccupied preparing my CV and some really tough questions, demanded to be answered by 22nd June.
The placement committee has got in touch with us (the new joiners) through this intrusive common google group made exclusively for information sharing purposes. We have been asked to start working on our resumes. And let me tell you. Only thing that has haunted me for past 3-4 years is my CV. I have a weak profile when compared to my counter parts. How did I manage admission into IIM K ? well lets just say I was asked right questions at the right time. Anyways on to my CV, I have zero extracurriculars. Extra kya hote hai...extra hai toh kabi kiye hi nai.
And so now I am faced with this herculean tasks to somehow magically transform my resume to at least 1.5 pages long ( that is what seniors demanded of us ). Kaise karu ? Ek page nai banta. Lets see what I can do. Will keep you guys in the loop.
Trouble didn't just end there. I have a set of questionnaire to answer. They include a SWOT analysis as well. And believe me you can comment on the entire world outside but when it comes to knowing oneself, we fail miserably. Yeah philosophy baby !. Joke about it however it is true. It is one of the toughest tasks to write about one-selves. Top that with questions like " write your character sketch in 150 words" and "Describe what you wish to achieve from your stint at IIMK in 300 words" , you have a loser in me hence.
Yes sire, you the reader if at any moment you wish to undertake a course in management or any of your acquaintances for that matter, you were warned. The real test lies after you have secured 99% in your MBA admission tests.
Well I shall take a leave and look for ways to sugar coat my profile. You guys have a good time .
Stay positive. Stay happy.
Until next time : Good bye.
